While surfing the net for homeschool gems for our curriculum, I came across these finds. I'm also including an excerpt from a personal email that I sent to a group I'm on.

I'm sure other moms will also have ideas...but here are a few things to consider to get you started...
http://www.spellingcity.com/ This is just plain fun. It might encourage a child to even want to write his/her words. A child can copy them down and then plug them into the computer. That's keyboard experience, too.
This site has fun stuff to do (while learning) like making a comic strip, crosswords, etc. http://www.readwritethink.org/
For K-6 there is http://www.udel.edu/ETL/RWN/Activities.html
I also found an ONLINE game for identifying rocks, into the SIM categories, too !! http://www.kidsgeo.com/geology-games/rocks-game.php
I remember a mom saying a few years ago that she felt she could just homeschool right off the internet, and I can see her point. There's just so much out there that other people think of - and we all get to benefit. An amazing tool.
This site is awesome for teaching little ones phonics in a very fun, interactive (and free) way ! It's titled Learn To Read and it covers very basic phonics through early reading. There are four levels to the site. I know some of the public schools use this site, too, in their computer labs.
We're using it, having fun with it, and the littles like it a lot.
